OPEN Chairmen Positions

Please consider volunteering for one of the following chairmen positions:


Art Masters An exceptional and comprehensive art program that we are very proud of here at our school. Artists are showcased in an assembly atmosphere followed by a hands on project in each classroom the following week. An art master instructor is provided for each classroom to help with the projects.

Chairperson:    Work closely with the Art Masters program facilitator in choosing the artists. Sets up the assemblies. Coordinates the planning and supplies for the projects.

Volunteers:  Assist with planning and preparing for art master classroom activities.  Assemble supplies and coordinate supply schedule for teachers.

Family Fun Night


Running Springs’ families gather together to enjoy 12 Bingo Games and a pizza dinner.

Chairperson: Plans and organizes BINGO NIGHT.

Volunteers: Assist the Chairperson in the planning and implementation of the events.  Such duties may include decorating, ticket sales, set up, and clean up.

December Crafts During the festive holiday season, students have the opportunity to create small crafts as gifts. Craft supplies and instruction are provided at a minimal cost, usually one to two dollars per project. This event will be held during the first week of December and will be held after school.

Chairperson: Will select the craft projects, collect supplies, train and organize volunteers.

Volunteers: Assist the chairperson with set up and clean up as well as instructing and helping the students create their special gifts.

Directory A directory is given to every family who is a member of our PTA. With the consent of our Running Springs Families, address, phone numbers and emails are listed. Our directory also includes school bell schedule, and school year calendar.

Chairperson: Will provide a form online for the first day packets requesting family’s information and permission to be listed. Enter the data onto a specified format on computer.

Volunteers: Assist the chairperson with alphabetizing the forms and distribution of the directories.

Hospitality The goal of this program is to establish a friendly, comfortable atmosphere at PTA meetings and events.

Chairperson:  Promote a welcoming atmosphere at meetings and events, coordinate refreshments as needed.

Volunteers:   Assist Chair in above duties.




Promotes bicycle-riding safety with a Bike Rodeo for the third grade classes. Date of event to be determined by the Principal and the chairperson.

Chairperson:  Works with principal.  Organizes the 3rd grade bike rodeo.

Volunteers:  Assist Chair as needed.

A Message from your PTA President


It has been a fun and busy month here at Running Springs. We are now into the third and last trimester of the school year!
Summer will be here before we know it!

The Know Your States Challenge ended with a pizza party for those students who received a perfect score on their test.   We’re so proud of all our Redhawk students who came out and participated.

We were also treated to an amazing group of performances by many of our talented students in our 14th Annual Talent Show. Our Third Grade students learned all about bike safety at our Bike Rodeo and had an exciting time at the Reaction Lab Assembly.

Fifth Grade participated in the ever so popular Walk Through the American Revolution Assembly.  The students had an opportunity to actively participate in a re-enactment of our nation’s beginnings.   It’s a wonderful way to teach while having fun!

PTA Elections were held at our March PTA meeting for our 2014-2015 Board Members CONGRATULATIONS to our new Board!

Upon returning from Spring Break, our students will enjoy both Art & Music Assemblies and will have in classroom lessons for Art Masters. Our 6th Graders will have a chance to Explore Greek Mythology in The Odyssey Assembly and towards the end of April the Kindergarteners will participate in the Animals All Around Assembly. This is always a favorite with our younger groups.

As always, we would not be able to provide these fun and educational activities if it weren’t for all our wonderful volunteers and the monies raised from our PTA Run-A-Thon …THANK YOU!
