foundation games 2015Foundation Games Track Meet- Grades 3-6

We hope to compete again in the annual track meet sponsored by the Community Foundation of Orange, known as the Foundation Games. We have sent 3rd-6th grade teams to this track meet for the last few years. In order to continue this opportunity for students, we are looking for additional volunteer coaches. If you are interested and available to coach a grade level team of about 10 students to prepare them for track and field events, please contact Mrs. Coe as soon as possible at 714-281-4512 or email me at

We need at least 10 more volunteers in order for our students to participate in this event again this year. Thank you for your continued support of all of the programs, events, and students at Running Springs Elementary School.
*This year the meet for Elementary will be Sat. April 18, at Fred Kelly Stadium.

Know Your States Challenge

Yes, the annual Know Your States Challenge is just around the corner!

Get ready to study by using the resources and sample tests available on our website   Any and all students are welcome to join in this enriching experience of knowing our country.  It’s a required test for all fifth graders, and it is a wonderful opportunity for kindergartners through fourth grade students to become well prepared while having fun with a variety of learning tools and games on how to learn where our states and capitals are in America.

This challenge will be offered during lunchtime in the Multipurpose Room (MPR) on the following Tuesdays:
February 3rd, 10th, and 17th of 2015.
Mark your calendars!

Kindergartners may have the test read to them by one of our parent volunteers.

Students who know where all 50 states are will be awarded a Know Your States Certificate and Pizza Party!  Those who pass the States Challenge during the first or second week will be given the chance to take the Know Your State Capitals Challenge.  Each student who earns a perfect score on this test will also receive a beautiful medal.
