Running Springs had another fun Red Ribbon Week!

Many students participated in the daily activities! We certainly had lots of crazy hair, cool shades and backwards outfits and students were thrilled to have a free dress day! Thank you to all our parents who took the extra time during their mornings to add this component to their routine!  As you can imagine, all those bright red ribbons do not appear magically, so a very special thank you needs to be given to the following families who came out to decorate the school ~ The Candelas, The Hendricksons, The Lees, The Lovings and The Showlers. It looked wonderful…. THANK YOU!  Thank you to all our teachers for helping pass out bracelets and candy! It was fun to see that some of them even took part in the fun!  Last but not least, a giant thank you to The Parkin Family who donated all the red ribbons for the exterior of the school!

Because of everyone’s help, Running Spring’s students certainly got our message that “The Best Me is Drug Free”!

Great Job Everyone!

A Message from your PTA President

Dear Running Springs Families,

What a busy and fun couple of months we have had, and now it is time to enjoy the calmness that November brings. We hope that you have all enjoyed reading the Redhawk Reporter and have found the articles informative. Special thanks to our Editor, Chris Morrell for doing an amazing job!

Earthquake kits…
Thanks to our wonderful chairperson Andrea Scheff for ordering, collecting and securing our Earthquake kits for this school year. They are all labeled and ready just in case we ever need to use them. Great job!

Red Ribbon Week…
Thank you to Laura Pistoresi and her committee for decorating our school with Red Ribbons and Posters re-minding everyone they have the POWER to be drug free and are “TOO SMART TO START”! The students and Staff had fun participating in the daily themes from “I’m Drug Free from my HEAD to my TOES” and coming to school with CRAZY Hair & Socks; to “Be a Good Sport, Don’t Do Drugs” and wearing their favorite sports shirt and finishing off the week with “Proud to Be Drug FREE” and having a free dress day!

Ghost Town Round Up…
On October 10th, our school was transformed into the Ghost Town Round Up at Running Springs Ranch. Our families ate yummy hamburgers from TK Burger, tried their luck at winning beautiful baskets, played fun carnival games, purchased beautiful Redhawk hair bows & Lego key chains and participated in the cake walk. Some may have even gone home with some goldfish! We had a full house and hope everyone had a great time. A BIG thank you to FFN Chairmen: Jenn Loving, Julie Snyder, Patty Chau and Jennifer Reighter as well as ALL the volunteers who made Family Fun Night such a success!

We’re nearing the end of the First Trimester…
Wow! Time sure flies when you’re having fun! Less than two weeks and we’ll be heading into the next Trimester. I hope you and your children enjoyed the beginning of school and are eager for the academics and fun yet to come. Good luck to all of you! Thank you again to all of the Running Springs Parent Volunteers who have helped get us to this point of the school year. We truly appreciate all you do.
