Art Master’s in November

Calderv1Art Masters is a wonderful enrichment program sponsored by the PTA at Running Springs.  Once per trimester the students receive instruction about a particular artist during a multi-media assembly.  The following week an art teacher visits each classroom and shows the students how to make a piece of artwork in the style of the artist studied.  When you donate to the PTA this is just one of the many programs you are making possible for your children.

***Our next artist is Alexander Calder, an American sculptor (1898 – 1976)***

A Message from your PTA President

Dear Running Springs Families,

It’s hard to believe that we have already finished over a month of school! Time sure flies when you’re having fun!  A huge THANK YOU to all who participated in our 5th Annual Run-A-Thon! Once again, it was a tremendous success because of your dedication and generosity! We want to extend our thanks to the many parent volunteers who came and helped out the day of the event. We could not have done it without you! A Special thanks to Melody Sadowski who did an amazing job organizing the event. Due to all of her hard work and to the amazing families here at Running Springs, we were able to meet our fundraising goal! Now, not only will our Redhawks continue to enjoy the programs we are able to offer, but as an additional reward, the entire school will participate in a “No Homework Night” – date to be announced shortly. Great job Redhawks!

October is a busy month for Running Springs. We have Parent Teacher Conferences from the 6th – 10th. Please remember that these are minimum days.

Our Family Fun Night Ghost Town is scheduled for Friday, October 10th from 4-8pm. This is a fun family event with fun games for the kids, opportunity baskets, a photo booth, cake walk, DJ and much more! Be sure to mark your calendars as you won’t want to miss the fun! See the Family Fun Night article for more detailed information.

Red Ribbon Week runs from the 20th through the 24th which helps our Redhawks pledge to be Drug Free. Help show our students that they have the POWER to stay DRUG FREE!

Running Springs PTA truly wants to thank you again for all the help and support you have given so far this year. Together we all make a difference!   Have a great October and we’ll see you at the PTA meeting on the October 9th!

Sincerely,
Jennifer Ahrendt
