Please note that our PTA registration is now open and available online.   To get started…look for the Pencil Icon on the right hand side of the home page.

Here you will have the opportunity to register and order everything online and pay by credit card with no convenience fee OR if paying by check you will register online and receive a confirming email with the forms that you have requested which will need to be printed, completed and turned in with your check payment by September 5th

A Message from your PTA President

Summer’s Almost Over…

Welcome Running Springs Families,

It’s hard to believe, but the new school year is just around the corner. It’s time to slowly start transitioning from summer vacations and staying up late, to a scheduled routine and packed lunches.

School resumes on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. We know that the beginning of school is very exciting, but can also be a bit overwhelming. We hope that the information provided on our website will give you some necessary tools needed for the start of a great year.

ALL PTA registration forms & flyers, such as Run-A-Thon, Membership, Birthday Book Club, Directory, Yearbook and other important forms will be available on our website soon. We are again offering the option to submit PTA forms and payment online with credit card/ PayPal or you can continue with the option to print, complete and return to school with a check.

School supply lists are available on our website and are posted at our local Target. These lists are mere suggestions as to how you can help your child prepare for the school year.

School uniforms are sold at American Casual located at 2940 E. La Palma Ave. Suite E., Anaheim, CA 92807. This is the only place to purchase the uniform tops since they have the Redhawk logo embroidered/printed on them, however you can purchase the bottoms at various locations. The uniform bottoms are Navy or Khaki. Some suggestions are: American Casual, Old Navy, Kohl’s, Children’s Place, Target or any other store that carry uniforms.

We will be hosting a Welcome Back Tea on the first day of School. Please stop by the Multipurpose Room right after drop off and see what’s new for the 2014-2015 school year. We’ll be happy to help answer any PTA questions you might have.

We welcome everyone who wants to be involved and would love to see you at our meetings. Meetings are usually held the second Thursday of every month at 8:15am and refreshments are always served. Our first PTA meeting will be held August 28th in the MPR and we hope you can join us.

Enjoy the rest of summer break and we look forward to seeing you on the first day of school.

5th Annual Run-A-Thon




This will be the PTA’s ONLY FUNDRAISER for the year, which will fund our entire PTA budget. This budget includes: supplemental student programs, assemblies, additional physical education personnel & supplies, just to name a few.  In order to fund our budget, we need everyone’s support.  We are asking each student to set a goal & do their best to reach out to 10 people for $10 each.  Our kick off assembly will take place on Friday, August 29, 2014, at which time your child will come home with their pledge form instructions & exciting prize information.

In order for this event to be successful we are turning to our local business owners & our Running Springs families that may have businesses of their own to become our Community Partners.

Community Partners/Sponsors Forms and donations must be received by September 5th, in order to have your name on the back of the T-shirts!

Congratulations HSA Recipients!

Honorary Service Awards

Each year Running Springs Elementary School PTA honors individuals and organizations in the community for outstanding service or contribution to youth. In the spring of each year Running Springs’ parents and teachers are asked to submit a nomination form, nominating an individual and/or organization they feel is worthy of receiving the award.

There are six types of Honorary Service Awards available, and monies collected with this program are used to fund the California State PTA Scholarship and Grant Program.  “The Mission of the California State PTA is to positively impact the lives of all children and families.

We feel the following individuals emulate this mission and are honored to present the following awardees for the 2013/14 school year.

OPEN Chairmen Positions 2014-15

You are invited to join the PTA as a chairperson.  Make new friends, have some fun, show off your skills or learn new ones and make a difference at Running Springs.  We currently have 4 OPEN Chairmen positions for the 2014-15 school year.   If you are interested but have questions, send us a note.  We are happy to answer any questions.

Please consider volunteering for one of the following chairmen positions:

December Crafts-
During the festive holiday season, students have the opportunity to create small crafts as gifts. Craft supplies and instruction are provided at a minimal cost, usually one to two dollars per project. This event will be held during the first week of December and will be held after school.

Chairperson: Will select the craft projects, collect supplies, train and organize volunteers.

Volunteers: Assist the chairperson with set up and clean up as well as instructing and helping the students create their special gifts.
