6th Annual Run-a-thon

Our 6th Annual Redhawk Run-a-thon was a Blast!

On Friday, September 25th, the Running Springs PTA hosted the 6th Annual Redhawk Runa-thon and what a great event it turned out to be. We had great family members who came out to cheer the kids on. We had members of the fire department and police department that came out and ran with the kids. It was awesome! Students began with a fun warm up, ran some laps while listening to great music generously donated by DJ Danny D. The students had a great time dancing the “Nae Nae” and the “Cha Cha Slide” with the Chick-Fil-A cow and then they cooled down with ice cold water and Otter Pops. Mrs. Walker & Mr. Besta, Principals of El Rancho Charter Middle School came by to say “Hi” to our 6th graders & shared some inspirational words. CJ Wilson from the Angels came by to warm up our 2nd graders and cheered them on as they ran! We had Kohl’s Volunteers who came out to support the kids and cheered them on. The Chapman University Men’s Soccer Team joined our Principal Mr. Vidal in running, walking & cheering on our students. It was great seeing so many families cheering on the kids & running with them!

There were so many volunteers who helped make this event such a success! I would like to Thank Every Volunteer who has helped me prepare over the summer, set up the booths, man the booths, mark student tally sheets, count donations, as well as the many parents & other family members who lined the track & cheered the runners on! I would also like to thank each and every family for their generous donations

Individual prizes will be delivered on Tuesday, October 6th, Teacher Prizes and Special Drawing Prizes will be delivered on Thursday, October 8th and students who did reach their goal of raising $100 will receive a Kona Shaved Ice Party on Friday, October 9th . It is YOU, the Running Springs families that makes our school the BEST!!! GO REDHAWKS!!!

Sincerely, Patty Chau, VP of Ways & Means pattychau@yahoo.com

A BIG thank you to all our families who supported our PTA year! With your support, our school can remain as strong and committed to our students as it has been in the past! PTA works hard to enrich the experience your child has at Running Springs.

It’s amazing what the PTA is able to provide each year to our students….

* Birthday Book Club
* Art Masters
* December Crafts
* Valentine’s Bingo
* Emergency Kits
* Red Ribbon Week
* Teacher Appreciation Week
* Assembly Award Gift Certificates
* Run-athon * And much more!

But with anything, it cannot be done alone. So THANK YOU again for joining PTA!
We would also like to congratulate the following classes who had the highest PTA percentage for their grade level.

First Grade – Mrs. Okamura
Second Grade – Mrs. Sanada
Third Grade – Mrs. Bandong

A Message from your PTA President

A Message from your Running Sprngs PTA President

Dear Running Springs Families,

Where did September go? It’s hard to believe we have finished our first month of school, but in that month your PTA has been super busy! Thank you to everyone who completed their First Day of School Packets and purchased their PTA memberships, Yearbooks, Birthday Book Club Books and Emergency Kits. Though our official sale is over, PTA memberships and Yearbooks are still available to purchase. Thank you to all the parents that helped process all these orders and our amazing chairmen who are taking care of all our orders! Plus a very special thank you to Jennifer Carrillo who created and maintains our PTA website, which enables us to pay online! We concluded September with PTA’s one and only fundraiser, our 6th Annual Redhawk Run-a-Thon. A GIANT thank you to Patty Chau, who was this year’s chairman. Patty spent hours organizing, getting donations and communicating with parents. She did an AWESOME job!!! Thank you to all the parents, family and friends that also came out that day to help support our runners and make this such a successful event. Unfortunately, we haven’t met our goal yet….. so please consider donating if you haven’t…Every penny counts! Thank you to all our generous parents who have already made their donations. All these donations go to fund activities that enrich your child’s school experience!

Hold onto your boot straps for October! It is a fun-filled month! There will be conferences, 6th grade Outdoor Science Camp, Red Ribbon Week, Fall parties and the Ghost Town Family Fun Night Round Up! Watch for more information on these events in your child’s communication folder. Family Fun Night takes tons of volunteers, so don’t be shy…. sign up to volunteer to help! Thank you to all our parents who are taking on the role of Room Parent! We are so lucky at Running Springs to have so many parents that are so generous with their time! But we can never have too many volunteers, so please feel free to contact me, any PTA Board Member, any Chairmen or your Room Parent and we are happy to help find a place for you to volunteer!

Happy October!

Happy School Year!
